Tails of Desire

"Tails of Desire" is a collection of three short stories written over the past few years. They weren't originally intended to share a world, but as they developed, I think some subtle connections emerged. It is a world not unfamiliar to those of us living through the "Screaming Twenties" but one which is, I think, much kinder and more peaceful.

"The House on the Hill" tells the story of a pair of young lovers living in a spooky old mansion overlooking a small town. One night as they dreamed, as shadowy figure crept through their open balcony door.

"Business Casual" tells the story of Jesse, a young man fresh out of college. When he shows up on the first day of work, he learns just how strange a job it is to be personal assistant to millionaire playboy Richard Dewey.

"In the Stacks" follows a tutor named Heidi as she waits at a local café and bookshop. The rain is coming down in sheets, and she’s just on the verge of leaving when the door opens with a familiar chime.

These stories may not be very realistic, but I hope that they give you glimpses of the world as we can only dream it may one day be.
